Off to Page, Arizona

Leaving Kanab with a smile, even though it was still early, we kept going to drive to Page, Arizona, where I would finally meet beautiful Antilope Canyon. My tour was scheduled for 3.30PM and we wanted to be very early to make sure I would bring the right photography gear. We drove for about an hour when we were greeted by a herd of cows on the side of the road, and since we were on vacation and the rest of the scenery was very beautiful, we decided to stop and seize the moment. Jeff checked his app if he was allowed to fly his drone, and seeing he is an Advanced Drone pilot, he certainly could fly there! I took out my camera and we enjoyed the moment – moments of red rock and sunshine . Finally…sunshine!

It wasn’t overly warm, but that is all relative for us Canadians. We’ll take anything over zero degrees!

After we had satisfied our creativity and let Penny out to stretch her legs too, we hopped back in the car, scoping out our next coffee shop location. As a co-pilot it is my job to find those, and it cannot “just be Starbucks”. We like the cozy local coffee shops. I found a very cute place called LP Espresso that seemed in the center of Page AZ, and when we arrived it appeared pretty new. Coffee was great, however we were spoiled with the one before in Kanab UT.  Friendly service in a nicely decorated space. We’re happy to consume our second cup of java while taking the opportunity to hook into their WiFi to find the tour company where I had booked. It was only 11AM.

The company turned out to be right around the corner, so we walked over. The guy from the tour company recommended my 24-70mm lens over the wide angle and he was right! Antilope Canyon is not like the Grand Canyon, so it was perfect.
